Estados Unidos.- Aunque la cinta protagonizada por Margot Robbie, "Barbie", era la máxima nominada para los Critic's Choice Awards 2024, y que logró triunfar en seis categorías, nuevamente fue superada por "Oppenhaimer", que se convirtió en la ganadora de la noche con ocho reconocimientos, entre ellos el de Mejor película, según la Asociación de Críticos, que además premió a su director, Christopher Nolan, como el mejor. 

Desde el Barker Hangar de Santa Mónica, California, se transmitió en vivo la edición número 29 de la ceremonia conducida por la comediante Chelsea Handler en la que la Asociación de Críticos de Cinematografía premia a lo mejor en cuanto a la pantalla chica y al séptimo arte.

Como ocurrió hace una semana en la entrega de los Globos de Oro 2024, "Oppenhaimer" se convirtió en la favorita en la carrera rumbo al Óscar, pues también se llevó la estatuilla como Mejor película, además de otorgarle a Christopher Nolan el reconocimiento como Mejor director, y premios en las categorías Mejor banda sonora, efectos visuales, edición, fotografía, elenco y actor de reparto.

Pero "Barbie" no se fue con las manos vacías, pues alzó en seis ocasiones la estatuilla en las categorías de Mejor comedia, peinado y maquillaje, diseño de vestuario, diseño de producción y guion original; pero además triunfó al llevarse el premio a Mejor canción, para sorpresa del actor Ryan Gosling, pues se trató de su interpretación con el tema “I’m just Ken”.

Gana Succession como Mejor serie dramática y The Bear en comedia

"Succession" también repitió la hazaña de los Globos de Oro 2024, pues se convirtió en la Mejor serie dramática, y de igual forma repitió el triunfo de Kieran Culkin y Sarah Snook como Mejor actor y actriz respectivamente.

Mientras "The Bear" se convirtió en la Mejor serie de comedia, y sus protagonistas Jeremy Allen White, Ayo Edebiri y Ebon Moss-Bachrach, fueron reconocidos como Mejor actor, actriz y actor de reparto (respectivamente) en una serie de comedia. El premio a mejor actriz de reparto en esta categoría fue para Meryl Streep, por "Only Murders in the Building".

Harrison Ford recibe reconocimiento especial

Uno de los momentos más emotivos de la noche fue cuando el actor Harrison Ford subió al escenario para ser honrado con el con el Premio a la Trayectoria Profesional (Career achievement award).

Con la voz cortada tras la ovación de pie que le dio el auditorio, el actor de 81 años agradeció el reconocimiento y dijo que su carrera era la combinación de suerte y el trabajo de maravillosos directores, escritores y cineastas a lo largo de los años. Ford además agradeció a su esposa, la actriz Calista Flockhart, quien no pudo contener las lágrimas.
